Guest guest
Paragraph 38 Just as it is futile to examine the rubbish that has to be swept up only to be thrown away, so it is futile for him who seeks to know the Self to set to work enumerating the tattvas (classifications of the elements of existence) that envelop the Self and examining them, instead of casting them away. He should consider the phenomenal world with reference to himself as merely a dream. COMMENTS Do trees and grass become enlightened? Whatever the answer, it is just another thought. Will this (or any) thought bring Self- realization? Will understanding the world, and the place that this ego-I has in it bring you lasting peace? What should the seeker do with all these thoughts? Cut them off, cast them away, do not be attached to any thought as something that is your identity. Look at the world like a dream. All the world changes and is known by that which does not change. That is within you. What within you never changes? You can know it right now. What is it that does not change? Who are you? ----------------------------- Comments invited. we are Not two, Richard
