Guest guest
Dear Friends I have one doubt to ask and just hope that I might get reply here. I have a doubt which i wanted to clear. Recently a very trusted astrologer advised me to chant either the lalitha or vishnu sahasranam. I am undecided which one to practice. I had been to ramanashram about 2 years back and I remember that there is a regular chanting of lalitha saharanam in front of mother's samadhi. I would be grateful if any knowledgeable person can guide me as which particlur chant I should follow. What are the benefits or advantages that accrue from practising either lalita or Vishnu sahasranam chants , can someone throw light on that ? The chanting of either or both is equal, there is no enmity, no 'do I choose this one, or that one?'... what is of import is the bhav that one possesses when chanting. Lalita and Vishnu Sahasranam are both chants of devotion which extols the various attributes of the Lord, the chanting of which brings one to one pointedness, bringing the chanter to exceed the attributes and resting in the Attributeless. At our ashram Lalitha Sahasranam is chanted on Tuesday and Vishnu Sahasranam is chanted on Wednesday, with the same devotion, the same bliss, and the same invocation of inner divinity being experienced. The benefits of any chant properly chanted is the invocation and embibing in the Divine Consciousness through becoming one pointed in devotion. It is a mistake to say any one chant is more 'powerful' than another. It is the bhav, by grace of Shri Guru, that bestows the feeling within the chanter that the chanting, the chant, and the chanter one. When sang with proper feeling, both of these chants will be 'same' in the heart chamber. There is nothing right or wrong with trying both and chanting the one you most resonate with, or chanting both continuously.
