Guest guest
om namo bhagavate sri ramanaya Dear Vicki, 'Love and devotion to him are a bridge across the abyss to salvation. He had many devotees for whom he prescribed no other path...' (Ramana Maharshi and the Path to Self-knowledge; 1978, 146) ....There have been Saints who have promised to return to earth for the renewed guidance of their devotees in life after life, but Sri Bhagavan was the complete Gnani in whom there is not even that vestige of an ego that may indicate rebirth, and the devotees understood this. His promise was different. 'I am not going away. Where could I go? I am here.' Not even 'I shall be here' but 'I am here', for to the Gnani there is no change, no time, no difference of past and future, no going away, only the eternal 'Now' in which the whole of time is poised, the universal, spaceless 'Here'...(p191)' It is not just those who were with Him at Arunachala who continue to feel His presence. Some have told of reading about Atma Vichara after His death (without knowing He was no longer embodied) and yet they felt His ever-present guidance. Some have turned to Him with full knowledge of His mahasamadhi and they too received guidance and continue to do so. This is the nature of Bhakti. Bhakti is the stirring of that innate Self, dwelling in/at the Heart of all. If 'others' do not accept this...so be it. Ever Yours in Sri Bhagavan, Miles
