Guest guest
Dear Alton, >Also, Richard the questions for Self Inquiry that you shared are direct and informative, but are we not taking away the silence of the mind and poluting the mind with so many questions. Is not Vichara done with a silent mind more efficacious? Or is that silent Vichara for advanced seekers. < Alton, If the mind is quiet then the inquiry is direct. One form of it is "For whom is this quiet mind?" or "Who knows this quiet mind?" If the mind is not quiet then these are approaches to removing misidentifiactions that constitiute the 'noise' of the mind. Also, rather than asking lots of questions during each inquiry, these approaches are best used a little at one time, where there is time to deeply discriminate the Real from the changing. Each is like a tool. You may have lots of tools in your shop, but you don't use them all at once. Remember back to Ramana's own story of Realization. His own approach was to actively look at what reality was left after he stilled his body and quieted his breath. After intense looking (really, inquiry and discrimination), he saw (eliminated ignorance with Knowledge), once and completely WHO HE WAS. All the rest is history and shining example for the rest of us. We are Not two, Richard
