Guest guest
Recently i have been versifying some of Swaminathan's translations of verses in Guru Vachaka Kovai .The reasons are that I find these free verse translations while no doubt accurate in meaning lack musicality and somewhat irregularly stilted .Muraganar's verses were rhymed and scanned ,as is all Hindu scripture . Also it helps me get more in touch with the Poem .An example for you , One wanders why most people plough with thought On conceptual soil , hard to cultivate ? The treacherous field of sense , thinks it ought Hanker for a grain of pleasure to satiate Its lust for sensation , feverishly sought . Yet Divine Forces , invisible above , Shower with Grace , a little labour of love . Everything you'll ever need on one web page from News and Sport to Email and Music Charts http://uk.my.
