Guest guest
As Ramana left the temple, someone accosted him and wished to know if he would like to have his hair cut. When he said 'yes' he was taken to Ayyankulam Tank where there was a congregation of barbers. One of them completely shaved off his lovely locks of jet-black hair. This was symbolic of Ramana having renounced the world. Then Ramana threw away his sacred thread and balance of money which he had and the sweets which had been given to him the previous day by the pious couple at Kilur. He never again touched money in his life. By his actions Ramana had renounced attachment to caste and to money, outwardly as well. Ramana then took off the dhoti he was wearing, tore a portion of it to serve as his cod-piece and threw the rest away. Even when he was exposed to the elements, to the sun, rain and cold, Ramana wore only a cod-piece for the rest of his life. Timeless in time...Natarajan
