Guest guest
Bhagavan's State seems to have three or four distinct outward landmarks. The first period was the first six weeks after his enlightenment, when he was virtually hiding his momentous experience and supreme wisdom. The mantle of the student was not discarded, and the family members were not allowed to have any idea of his state. Whenever possible Ramana would be immersed in the Self. The next stage may be said to be the period from his arrival at Tiruvannamalai on September 1, 1896, till November 18, 1907, when he broke his silence to instruct Ganapati Muni on the meaning of tapas. The doubts of all earnest seekers would be answered, but their numbers were not large. There were long spells of immense and powerful silence. The third and final stage was in the forties when seekers from all over the world and of all religions came in their thousands to seek Ramana's counsel - the doors were always open to one and all. In this period too there would be those indrawn hours but they were less frequent. The fourth is the post Nirvana years when his continued presence as the unfailing 'Living Guru' is apparent to seekers of truth. >From Timeless in Time by Natarajan
