Guest guest
Dear Alan and Gabriele, Thank you for the enlightening comments. In Tchengs' words I liked the description of vagaries of mind ( thoughts) misleading even those who did spiritual practices for long periods and how it obstructs realising the Self. These words also make us wonder how Sri Bhagavan made the whole complex process of overcoming the mind so simple. Old Tcheng's words ( yet to be posted) come very close to Sri Bhagavan's words when he quotes the example where one attempts to see the moon as a reflection in the water instead of looking at moon directly. Ramana Sarma Posting to follow "As you are not able to see the primordial spirit and thus live your life yourselves, you cover up your insignificance by donning someone else's skin, dead or alive. You accumulate points of view and cultivate their nuances, differences and convergences. And so you strut about. Because you bedazzle fools with your tricks, you take yourselves for awakened beings. Baldheads you are mere chatterboxes and jugglers. You have deceived yourselves. Your problem is incurable. You do not need any one else to see the light of the sun. All that others may say about this is useless to you. You are in the light. It warms your body and yet you cannot grab it in such a way that you may put it in a box. All efforts to possess it are doomed to fail from the start. You can neither catch it nor get rid of it. This was already told by some old blabbermouth and others before him. The same applies to the primordial spirit. It is always present and just as luminous as the light of the sun. You can neither claim it nor get rid of it. Baldheads, the fact that you are not able to see it is due to the hotchpotch that you have placed above your heads. You cannot see it because you are rapped up in your efforts to try and trap it with your thoughts, your worshiping and your practices. You think that it is far away, but it is right here. You want to grab it but it escapes you. If you were full of simplicity you would only have to open your eyes to see it in the same way that you see the light of the sun. For that no invention is needed. He who has seen one grain of sand has seen all grains of sand from all shores and from the bottom of all the seas of the world. If you see the primordial spirit, you see the entire primordial spirit and you are a Buddha. Jai Sri Ramana Ramana Sarma *
Guest guest
Dear Ramana Sarma , you ask how did Ramana make the complex problem of Self realisation so simple ..The Maharshi was one of the greatest Sages in recorded history .To teach by silence is the hall mark of a Great Sage .He was a descent of Grace for Contemporary Humanity to bring the Vichara Marga as a way available for whomever was receptive .He said that Self Realisation was simple but like your Cha'n masters often taught by paradox and sometimes implied it was difficult - it would depend on the vasanas and samskaras of the so-called individual .Briefly he makes it clear that through Self Surrender and Self Enquiry it was possible in time for all . When the world sinks to corruption as the Gita points out a Great Sage arises to restore planetry balance and restore the Dharma .Such is Ramana for our lifetimes - in my view .Regards Alan Dear Alan and Gabriele,

Thank you for the enlightening comments.

In Tchengs' words I liked the description of vagaries of mind ( thoughts)
misleading even those who did spiritual practices for long periods and how
it obstructs realising the Self.

These words also make us wonder how Sri Bhagavan made the whole complex
process of overcoming the mind so simple.

Old Tcheng's words ( yet to be posted) come very close to Sri Bhagavan's
words when he quotes the example where one attempts to see the moon as a
reflection in the water instead of looking at moon directly.

Ramana Sarma

Posting to follow

"As you are not able to see the primordial spirit and thus live your life
yourselves, you cover up your insignificance by donning someone else's skin,
dead or alive.
