Ramana stayed for nearly twenty years ... in what is now called 'Old Hall'. He

used to sit stretch and sleep on the couch in a corner of this hall. Above his

couch the sparrows would continuously build nests. The squirrels would run all

over and freely move on Ramana's body. Monkeys would be on the lookout for an

opportunity to snatch the fruit offerings kept on the stool near the couch. Cow

Lakshmi would take over the place whenever she wanted to. There was no stopping

her. She knew this only too well and chose her own timings to be consoled,

petted or fed by Ramana. People would be coming in and going out continuously at

all times of the day. No one needed any permission to see Ramana, no

appointments, no preferences, no fixed timing. One would seize the best

opportunity to clear his doubts, no matter whether it was immediately after the

mid-day meal or after dinner. For they were aware of his compassion, his

willingness to help earnest seekers.

Timeless in time Natarajan
