Turn oneself into a powerful gaze

Probe inwards through the murky mental haze ,

Find the way through the mysterious maze

Of thoughts , 'till one of these amazing days

Through Guru's Grace , an inner flame shall blaze .

Then back to it's Source , our 'I' we'll trace ;

Many the methods , many the ways

To enquire into Self . So a game God plays

'Till we wake up from hypnotic glaze

And ship of life sails home to blissful bays .

Dear Jiva , I am sorry you feel it is doggerell .Poetry is a matter of taste

..Many prefer rhymed

metrical verse to the overworked free verse in this country , where I am a

published poet .I agree

with you about Self Enquiry and Meditation on the Right side of the chest. It is

recommended in the

book 'Technique of Maha Yoga ' , published by Ramanasramam .I find it works too

..Do you write

poetry ?Let's see some .I bet it it's better than mine .All love Alan

Poetry all published long ago. in 50s and 60s, under "Errol Pritchard":

Atlantic Monthly, Hudson Review, Paris Review and many others.

Use of obsolete second person singular is pretentious, not affectionate.

Affection is on the level of equality. Use of rhyme is to be praised, but

bad rhyme (easy rhyme) is to be soundly condemned.

Bhagavan was very clear about the sthana for meditation, though he also

made clear that for some another sthana might be chosen, as between the

ears, or above the top of the head.
