Breath control ( pranayama- exhaling- retaining- inhaling in a tatio of timings ) for longer times without supervision of a well trained teacher is dangerous and may bring problems to the seeker. jai Sri Ramana Ramana Sarma
Guest guest
Dear Venkata: Teachers give warnings for almost everything. some say if you meditate on the third eye you will go bonkers. I have tried pranayama many times and even said to hell with the locks recommended for safety. Nothing happened and I can think right through them or maybe even if someone hit me on the head. Our Iyengar yoga teacher was giving pranayama during her classes and also said that many of her students had some problems with emotional stuff coming up. Nothing happened us. Since Iyengar does not sanction it for beginners she was removed temporarily from teaching. Ram Dass' friend did it on drugs and burst his heart and died, so maybe I should take drugs and do it? We all have to die someday. Aloha, Nessuno
