Guest guest
Brunton kept extending his stay, first to a week and later to a fortnight, with growing impatience. his stay was a 'tantalizing mixture of sublime moods and disappearing failure to effect any worthwhile personal contact with the Maharshi". On the last day of his stay he managed to interview Maharshi again, this time about combining work and wisdom. Ramana told him, "The life of action need not be renounced. if you meditate in the right manner, then the current of mind induced will continue to flow even in the midst of your work. it is as thought there were tow way of expressing the same idea; the same line which you take in meditation will be expressed in your activities. As you goon you will find that your attitude towards people, events and object will gradually change. Your action will tend to follow your meditation of their own accord." What Brunton had received was an epoch making message of universal unselfishness. For, Ramana's teachings enable an inner renunciation, which ends conflict between activity and meditation. More to morrow Sri Ramana willing. >From Timeless in time by Natarajan
