Guest guest
Maurice Frydman was born in the year 1902 to Polish Jewish parents. After his education he took up work as a Research Engineer in a large firm manufacturing electrical machinery in France. While there he learnt chaste English. The then Diwan of Mysore, while on a visit to France, was struck by the originality and drive of Frydman and offered him a special post in the erstwhile state of Mysore. During he period of employment under the Mysore Govt,. Frydman had many opportunities to visit Ramana, he would often be at Sri Ramanasramam, whenever he had some time to spare. Frydman was childlike in nature and would put frank questions with freedom. For instance, once he asked with dramatic gestures 'Why should not the ego be cut down at one strike and destroyed so as to give Supreme bliss to the devotees?. Then Ramana broke out in laughter and asked Frydman to hold out his ego so that he could strike it down. Everyone including Frydman joined in the laughter, "Yes, now I understand". >From Timeless in Time by Natarajan
Guest guest
I hope that the laughter was not bitter, when the man was asked to hold out his ahamkara so that it might be stricken down, Of course we cannot hold out the ahamkara: I cannot extend my ego because I am it; and if I cease to be it. there is no ego to extend. Ha ha!!! This must be misreported, or else a bad hair day for my Guru. A tap to www.theHungerSite.com will give somebody a cup of rice.
