Guest guest
Can somebody help locate a quotation? Somewhere, I think in "Talks," Bhagavan says something like, "Do you bother to inspect the garbage before you discard it?"
Guest guest
Dear Rob, I sure remember the quote (or something like it). After I get back from satsang, I will see if I can find it. I wish that I could take the members of this group with me to satsang. Not being able to share satsang with our bodies, we share satsang in our Heart. Guest guest
Dear Rob, One source is from "Who am I?" Here is the entire paragraph: (paragraph 38 of all text version) Just as it is futile to examine the rubbish that has to be swept up only to be thrown away, so it is futile for him who seeks to know the Self to set to work enumerating the tattvas (classifications of the elements of existence) that envelop the Self and examining them, instead of casting them away. He should consider the phenomenal world with reference to himself as merely a dream. That's a beautiful wish Richard. I wish I could go to that Satsang too! Guest guest
Dear Richard, Thanks very much my friend. What if anything is this saying about discrimination, do you think? Guest guest
Dear Rob, I do not think that this is talking about discrimination. Rather I think this refers to the attempt to understand what is the illusory world. It isa not worth the effort to classify the illusion, rather, one should learn to see this it is illusion. Guest guest
Well, I guess Bhagavan never had the opportunity to watch Crime Night on Discovery Channel so that he never found out how many vital clues could be found in garbage. <smiling> Sam - Richard Clarke <r_clarke RamanaMaharshi Monday, December 09, 2002 1:38 AM [RamanaMaharshi] Re: No need to inspect garbage Dear Rob, One source is from "Who am I?"
