Guest guest
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sri Muruganar: Decad of Melting ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Handsome one, in this slave's eyes The only festive hero, son of the noble Alagamma, ploughman whose mere glance Ploughs down the inmost heart Of noblest devotees, deathless Venkata, Youth unageing through the ages, For you I melt, in you to fuse my heart. God, who is the clarity of pure, True Awareness, offspring Of glorious Sundara, pride of this servant, Protector, victorious one whose glance Turned to ashes the god of spring, Venkata immaculate, sorrow-free, Who shares his Being with Awareness, For you I melt, in you to fuse my heart. Me, who lived in love with earth, You caught and held to your flowery Feet. Venkata, whom the gods of heaven Adore and whom the Vedas hymn, Lord of Parasakti, the green peacock Singing melodious songs of longing, For you I melt, in you to fuse my heart. Friend beloved, learning's sweetest fruit, Lord of the lovely Lady Awareness, Rare mountain herb that cured my madness, Venkata, praised by the gods of heaven, Lord of the Vedas, you whose qualities The highest marvel at, For you I melt, in you to fuse my heart. Great one who forgives all faults, Whose tresses hold the crescent moon, To my sad plaint you graciously Lent ear and, merely opening Your forehead eye, destroyed at once All the past karmas of this slave, Venkata who bent as a bow The golden Meru, For you I melt, in you to fuse my heart.
