Guest guest
Dear list members On February 6, 2003, the Mahakumbabhishekam of the Arayaninallur Temple in Tirukoillur will be performed. This temple can be seen in "The Sage of Arunachala", Bhagavan's video biography that Sri Ramanasramam sells. Bhagavan reached there on August 30, 1896, on his way to Arunachala. He had just walked 17 kilometers from Mambalapatu, was tired and hungry and sat in this ancient temple built on a large rock. Tirujnanasambadar, one of the 63 Nayanars and also a boy of 16, came to this temple a thousand years earlier and first seen Sri Arunachala. We cannot say whether Bhagavan saw the Holy Mountain from there -- I think not, as he never mentioned it -- but he did have a spectacular vision of light while sitting in the temple near the murti of Jnanasambandar. The Mahakumbabhishekam of the Arayaninallur Temple is being performed after a gap of nearly 300 years. Several devotees from Sri Ramanasramam will participate.
