A conscious bliss ensues when one

abides as the Self, by enquiring

'What is the true import of 'I'?'.

This bliss is spontaneous, indestructible

and limitless.

This verse describes the state of abidance

in the Heart. The joy of this state is different

from the happiness which is merely the obverse

of sorrow. It is not cyclical but continuous. It is

significant to note that in this verse practical

guidance, by setting out the method for attaining

this experience, is also given. Yet another point

is that there is total awareness, one is conscious

of exhilaration beyond words, as the constant throb

of 'I' 'I' in the Heart. ...

It is important to remember that 'Who am I' is not a

question. No answer by way of affirmation 'I am that',

or negotation 'I am not the body' etc. is to be attempted.

'It is the attitude of enquiry which we assume, the

attitude of doubt as to our identity. ... once we have the

questioning attitude the process is simply to pay attention

to the 'I'-thought'.

The true import of I is "nada". i am nada, nothing.

But the bliss is attainable only when the true import

is applied in ones life.Howsuuccessfully can an

individual living in society can practice this is the

real question. As i see it in my experience,it is

necessary precondition that an individual has to

necessarily renounce worldly life and live the of a

asramite. This necessarily doesnot mean that one has

to live in an asramam. ONe can live in his own house

with family and adopt this , though i have yet to meet

anyone who is practicing this in worldly lifeddd.

Which again brings me back to the original

proposition. To attain concious one has to necessarily

sacrifice ones worldly life. JUst like other

sacrifices, martydom,, one has to pay the cost of

bliss in advance. the bassic adage in economics.

nothing comes free. there is no free lunch.
