Guest guest
om namo bhagavate sri ramanaya Dear Sri Ben, I looked through the website. It looks good. The sanskrit lessons look good. Thank you for introducing us this site. The tamil lessons in this site appear to have a minor error. Pure consonants in tamil are written with a dot on top. These dots are missing in the words introduced in the lessons. For example the word ALPS is written in lesson 2 of tamil without the dots on top of the tamil letters L, P and S. That would be read by tamils as AALaPaSa. Hopefully they will rectify it soon. Wish you happy learning. om gurave namah suri Catch all the cricket action. Guest guest
om namo bhagavate sri ramanaya Dar Ben, Thanks for notification of this site. It is nice to see attempts to invigorate Sanskrit. There are a few little problems in the transliteration mainly revolving around the modern tendency to drop vowels in the wrong places (e.g. consonants always have vowel attached unless marked otherwise) and forget sandhi rules. This is in the main an influence from modern language (such as Hindi). I see that some problems have been acknowledged on site. Ever Yours in Sri Bhagavan, Miles Dear All, This might be a little off-topic. I am trying to learn myself some Tamil and Sanskrit. For all interested here is the link to the site: http://www.ukindia.com One can find it under the "learn to read" section. It is free, though one can make a donation. Maybe more people here are interested so I thought to share it.
Guest guest
Suri, Miles, Yes I am aware of the vowel problem and the fact sandhi rules are ignored. Also they acknowledged it. Anyway...it's free :-) Thank you, Ben. - Miles Wright RamanaMaharshi Saturday, April 12, 2003 6:51 PM Re: [RamanaMaharshi] free course Tamil and Sanskrit om namo bhagavate sri ramanayaDar Ben,Thanks for notification of this site.
