Guest guest
Satsang with Fr. Bede Satsang is a Sanskrit word meaning the coming together (sanga) of those who are seeking God, Truth, Being (Sat). Q: You once spoke of our coming forth from and returning to God. Can you say a bit more about how that comes about? A: Each of us comes forth eternally from the hidden depths of the Father into being in the Word. There we receive name and form. There we are known from all eternity. In the Father we exist from all eternity in an unfathomable unity of being without distinction. In the Son we exist eternally in distinction of being, and yet without distinction, because in God all creatures are God. This is our eternal uncreated being in the Word. But when we come into being in time, then we become distinct and separate. Then we come to exist not simply in God but in ourselves. Yet even so, the grace of God is always drawing us back to himself. We come forth from God in order that we may exist in ourselves and know ourselves as distinct and separate, each a distinct and unique reflection of God, with a capacity of freedom, a power to will and choose our own being. It is then that we can choose to separate ourselves from God, to refuse to recognize our dependence on God, to create an illusory independence and become subject to maya. Or we can choose to return to God, to find our real being in him, to know ourselves as expressions of his being, as manifestations of his Word. This is the drama of sin and redemption. taken from www.bedegriffiths.com
