Guest guest
om namo bhagavate sri ramanaya The (original) Sanskrit version of this verse also appears as Sri Ramana Gita Chapter 2; v.2. Interestingly it has been variously translated to show either two paths or three paths to enter the Heart (although in essence the methods are one). Sri Ramana's English translation suggests three. (cf. Osborne; 1959) In the inmost core, the Heart Shines as Brahman alone, As 'I-I', the Self aware. Enter deep into the Heart By search for Self, or diving deep, Or with breath under check. Thus abide ever in Atman. Sri Ramana Gita tells us this verse was uttered in the Chaturmasya of 1915. cAturmAsya commences with GurupUrNimA (tomorrow). In the interior of the Heart-cave there shines alone the One Brahman as 'I-I', the self-conscious Atman. Realize that State of steadfast inherence in the Self, entering into the Heart either by diving deep within through Self-enquiry or by the submergence of the mind through breath-control. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ transl. by Osborne ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the centre of the Heart-Cave there shines alone the one Brahman as the 'I-I', the Atman. Reach the Heart by diving deep in quest of the Self, or by controlling the mind with the breath, and stay established in the Atman. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ transl. by Swaminathan ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
