Guest guest
In the lotus of the Heart is pure and changeless Consciousness in the form of the Self. When the ego is removed, this Consciousness of Self bestows Liberation of Soul. The body is like an earthern pot inert. Because it has no consciousness of 'I', and because daily in bodiless sleep we touch our real nature, the body is not 'I'. Then who is this 'I'? Where is this 'I'? In the Heart-Cave of those that question thus, there shineth forth as 'I', Himself, the Lord Siva of Arunachala. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ transl. by Swaminathan ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Know that the pure and changeless Self-awareness in the Heart is the Knowledge which, through the destruction of the ego, bestows Liberation. The body is inert like an earthern pot. Since it has no I- consciousness and since in deep sleep, when bodiless, we experience our natural being, the body cannot be the I. Who then is it that causes I-ness? Whence is he? In the Heart-cave of those who thus enquire and who know and abide as the Self, Lord Arunachala Siva shines forth of Himself as the 'That-am-I' Consciousness. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ transl. by Osborne ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
