Cast off the notion, "This vile flesh am I," and

seek the ceaseless bliss of Self. To seek the Self

while cherishing this perishing flesh is like trying to

cross a steam by clinging to a crocodile.

The Way of Charity, penance, sacrifice, dharma,

yoga and bhakti; and the Goal of Heaven, Reality,

Peace, Truth, Grace, Silence, Stability, Deathless death,

Knowledge, Renunciation, Liberation, Bliss; -

all this is only ceasing to think that the body is the Self.

Cast off the notion "I-am-the-contemptible-body".

Ponder over and realize the Self of perennial bliss.

Seeking to know the Self while cherishing the

body is like getting hold of a crocodile as a raft

to cross a river.

Charity, Penance, Sacrifice, Duty, Yoga, Devotion,

the Expanse of Consciousness, the Substance, Peace,

the Truth, Grace, Silence, the supreme State, the

deathless Death, Knowledge, Renunciation, Liberation,

and Bliss, know that all these are synonymous with the

severance of "I am-the-body" Consciousness.
