Guest guest
SrI: SrimathE Gopaladesika mahadesikaya namah: Dearest SRivaishnavas, Andal - the only female alwar. The greatness of Andal is explained in many ways by our preceptors. Andal was only a 5 year old child. Can we take her words as an authority ? BhUmAdEvi was in troubled waters captured and taken away / submerged in the ocean by an asura called Hiranyaksha. Lord Sriya: Pathi SrimannArAyana took the incarnation of a big boar (varAha) and went into the ocean to uplift up BhUmAdevi and save Her after the destruction of asurA effortlessly. She was lifted up and made sit in the lap of the Lord. (MaadhavIm Madhavapriyaam- Lakshmi Priya sakhIm dhEvIm namAmyachutha vallabhAm) . Still bhUmAdEvi was shivering. Lord asked her for the reason. She replied politely :" Oh ! my nAthA! You have protected me . But still I am not happy because our children in the samsArA are helpless. They cannot practice Bhakti yoga as preached by you in the vedas with their limited knowledge. So you must be kind enough to show them a simpler way to reach you " Lord understood the affection of bhUmAdEvi towards her (their) children and gave a comforting and assuaging assurance: The simplest way to reach me is to surrender at my lotus feet when one is able. With all three namley, manas , vAk and kAyam (speech, action and thought) one must surrender to the Lord. Think only about him, act only for his pUja, and speak only in praise of Him. Immediately bhUmipiratti grasped this easy means to reach the Lord and thought it fit to be preached to us in this samsAra in simpler langauge easily understood by us. So she incarnated as AndAl and descended in this world. Andal is none else but BhUmAdEvi herself. The preachings of VarAha is enscribed in the 5th verse of tiruppavai "vAyinAl pAdi , manatinAl cindikka, tUmalar tUvi tozhudu" . That will the pave the way for performance of Saranagathi and the upliftment to Paramapadham. Thus we revere tiruppavai as "vedamanaitukkum vithu"- where are the meanings of vEdAnta embedded in tiruppavai? The above is as read (and as translated freely by aDiyEn) from the aruLamizhdhu written by asmadhAchAryan H.H Srimath PaRavakkOttai Andavan of Srirangam Poundarikapuram Andavan Ashramam. Guest guest
Sri: Dear Sri Madhavakkannan, Adiyen appreciate your athama-gunam and your good qualities. You are very humble that you did not specify your part in this kainkaryam. There is one more Sri Vaishnavan who took the initiative to start this kainkaryam. He is our dear U Ve Sri Hari. Above all, HH Srimath Paravakottai Andavan and Divya Dampati's blessings enabled us to clear the obstacles and complete the kainkaryam. Adiyen thank all in supporting this acharya kainkaryam and move on in the same spirit.
