Guest guest
Sri Krishnaya Namah! Dear Sri Kalyani Krishnamachari Humble Pranams! This was a fantastic piece of information. Many thanks to you, as being a non vaishnava I am ignorant with respect to Sri Andal, Sri Vishnu Chittar, and all the Alwars works towards bhagavad anubhooti. I am being fortunate enough to read little bit sometime back about Sri Andal and Sri Vishnu Chittar (who is called as Periya Alwar). From that I am given to understand that Sri Vishnu Chittar is the avataar of Garuda. Is this right. It is also said that Sri Vishnu Chittar is such a devotee of Lord Narayana that when He appeared before Him, he immediately does mangalashasanam to the Lord thinking that the divya vibhuti and the beautiful face of the Lord might have been exposed evil eyes. Sukumar Sri Krishnaparabrahmane Namah!
Guest guest
Sri: Srimathe Ramanujaya Nama: Dear Sri Sukumar, It is indeed considered that Periyazhvar is an amsam of Garuda. Andal says in Nacciyar Thirumozhi "meymmaip peruvArththai vittuciththar kEttiruppar". Here meymmai peruvArththai is understood to be Bhagavad Gita and Periyazhvar listened to it as Garuda, who was present as the chariot on which Sri Krishna stood. Kindly refer to the following link which has a translation of the vyakhyana avatharikai by Sri Periyavaccan Pillai for Thiruppallandu. It addresses the mangalashasanam done by Periyazhvar to Sriman Narayana. http://www.acharya.org/vyakyanam/tpallan/index.html AzvAr emperumAnAr jIyar thiruvadigaLE sharaNam adiyEn madhurakavi dAsan --- sukumar <sukumar wrote: > Sri Krishnaya Namah! > > Dear Sri Kalyani Krishnamachari > > Humble Pranams! > > > This was a fantastic piece of information.
