Dear sri sukumar, respected sadagopan swami,

and sri vaishNava perunthagaiyeer,

here is the reply to sri sukumar's request [ his request is as at the end of

this mail].

The 10 prajaapathis are

* mareechi

* athri

* angiras

* pulasthya

* pulaha

* krathu

* Bhrugu

* vasishta

* dhakhsa or praachEthas

* naaradha

this detail is as in srimadh bhaagavatham third skandham adhyaaya 13 sloka 22.

which reads

mareechirathryangirasou pulasthya: pulaha: krathu: |

BhrugurvasishtO dhakshascha dhasamasthathra naaradha ||

further from which part these 10 praajapathis were created by brahma, the father

of these 10 prajaapathis, is also given in slokaas 23 and 24 of same chapter.

uthsangaannaaradhO jajnE dhakshO~ngushtaathsvayamBhuva: |

praaNaadhvasishta: sanjaathO Bhrugusthvachi karaathkrathu: || sloka 23

pulahO naaBhithO jajnE pulasthya: karNayOrrushi: |

angira mukhathO~kshNO~thrrmareechirmanasO~Bhavath || sloka 24

1. naaradha from uthsanga - the haunch or part above the hip - adi vayiru or

just above the genitals we can say.

2. dhaksha from angushta - kattai viral - thumb

3. vasishta from praaNa - the breath or nose we can say

4. Bhrugu from thvak - the skin

5. Krathu from the hands - kara:

6. Pulaha: from naabhi - the navel

7. Pulasthya: from karna - the ears

8. Angiras from mukham - the face or mouth - you can say

9. Athri from akshi - the eyes

10. Mareechi from manas - the heart or mind

Trust the information is useful.

To take up the next point of sukumar's request - the Ekaadhasa rudhraas are

1. ajaikapaadh

2. aahirbhudhanya

3. hara

4. nirrutha

5. eeswara

6. Bhuvana

7. angaaraka

8. ardhakEthu

9. mruthyu

10. sarpa

11. kapaalin

These names are as available in Samskrith english dictionary of Monier

williams.- page 883 col 2

The wives of these 11 rudhraas are

1. Dhee

2. vruththi

3. usanOmaa

4. niyuthi

5. sarpee

6. iLaa

7. ambikaa

8. iraavathee

9. sudhaa

10. dheekshaa

11. rudhraaNee

This is from slOkam 13 of adhyaaya 12, third skandham of srimadh bhagavatham.

Since it is not exactly given who is whose wife, I am not able to correctly link

beyond just giving all the 11 names.

Perhaps other learned in the list can help. For ex - sarpa's wife is sarpee that

way we can just link by gender in the language aspect.

Thanks and regards

Dhasan

Vasudevan m.g.
