Guest guest
SrI: Dear BhakthAs : I am enclosing a very thoughtful iniitative envisioned by Sri SampathkumAran . Plerase send your inputs to him directly with copies to me. Thank you all for your reviews and recommendations on this important subject, which is of concern to all of us as we look at our emptying villages and dhivya dEsams. V.Sadagopan " Dear Sriman Satagopan swamin, Thank you for your encouraging and supportive e-mail to our plans to serve the senior Srivaishnavites in India. In this connection I would like to seek your help in posting the message in our e-groups, so that I could collect the views of our members, which would be of great value, in working out a comprehensive plan of incorporating the suggestions to compile a detailed proposal to be presented to His Holiness for His blessings and Approval. I am sure I am not encroaching much on you with this request. Regards, Dasan Sampath Kumaran " -------------------- Note from SrIman SampathkumAran ********************************** Dear Srivaishnava members, Since you have been contributing a lot to the cause of Srivaishnavism and the community in particular I would like to seek your opinion and advice in the project proposed to be undertaken. Of late the younger generation of Sri Vaishnavites are forced to migrate to US, as a large group, and to other countries for better living. It is laudable to find that most of them continue to practise the traditions followed by their ancestors, thanks to the efforts taken by learned scholars and the electronic media. As you may be aware, many aged parents living in India alone need care at their old age. No doubt they have good financial support from their children abroad, but seek a secured living conditions as well maintain their nitya anustanams. For specific reasons they are not able to join their children abroad or stay in some of the homes for Senior citizens with cosmopolitan atmosphere. Considering these factors formal discussions were made with senior Srivaishnavites like Sri SVS Raghavan swami, to explore the possibility of running a home to meet these demands, during one of the visits of His Holiness Azagiyasingar to Vishranthi, a home for destitute women at Palavakkam, Chennai. Suggestions were made whether such a home can be started in the campus of the Mutt at Selayur, or any suitable location close by. It was felt that we should have a home free of charges for the weaker section, and one like small cottages with minimum comforts for those who can afford to pay a fixed initial sum and regular monthly charges thereon. These proposals are still in the initial discussion stage. Since it is a major project a detailed scheme is to be worked out including the budgetary cost, and a comprehensive project report is to be presented to His Holiness for His blessings and approval. The very purpose of starting it under the guidance of the Mutt is to maintain discipline in the functioning of the home. In the meantime, since I am on a visit to US I thought I could interact with the members of our groups, living in US and seek your views in this proposed project. I am sure You will be able to give us your valuable advice and suggestion for the successful implementation of this project. I am seeking the help of Sriman Satagopan to post this message and give publicity to members of our groups. For your information after retirement, I am connected with two paid homes -run on no profit and no loss basis - and I would very much like to contribute my services to the cause of the senior Srivaishnavites. You may kindly e-mail me your reply in this matter.
