Mother sumithraa continues consoling her elder kousalya saying - maa sOkO dhEvi dhu:kham vaa na raaamE dhrushyathairashivam | kshipram dhrakshyasi puthram thvam saseetham saha lakshmaNam || srimadh vaalmeeki raamaayaNam ayOdhyaa kaNdam sargam 44 slOkam 24 dhEvi = Oh, Kausalya! maa = do not have sOka: = grief dhu:kham vaa = or uneasiness ashivam = ill luck na dhrushyathE = is not being seen raame = in raamaa thvam = you drakshyasi = will see kshipram = soon puthram = your son sa seetham = along with seetha saha lakshmaNam = together with Lakshmana meaning: Oh, Kausalya! Do not have uneasiness or grief. raamaa has no ill luck. You will be able to see, soon, your son, along with seethaa, accompanied by lakshmaNa. Points: 1. See the assertion that raamaa has NO ILL LUCK. For a person who treads the right path no ill luck. 2. Further, for raamaa -yes, for the sooryasya soorya, the prime cause - how can he have ill luck - even if that ill luck comes near him it itself will turn too good. 3. It is said - just can not be authenticated - that raavaNa wanted to come in the garb of raama and once he had the garb - the very thought of abducting seetha vanished from his mind. If such is the position for a vEshadhaari himself, how can ill luck act on original raamaa himself. 4. From these points in this sargam, I wonder how much is mother sumithraa a realised soul about raamaa as paramaathman came in manushya roopam. See one more slOkam - aasvaasayanthee vividhaischa vaakyai:| vaakyOpachaarE kushalaan aadhyaa | raamasya thaam maatharam Evam ukthvaa | dhEvee sumithraa aviraraama raamaa || srimadh vaalmeeki raamaayaNam ayOdhyaa kaNdam sargam 44 slOkam 30 sumithraa = sumithraa dhEvee = the queen kusalaa = skilled vaakya upachaarE = in employment of words anavadhyaa = who is faultless raamaa = charming Evam = thus aasvaasayanthee = consoled raamasya = raamaa's thaam maatharam = that mother ukthvaa = by speaking vividhai: = with various vaakyai: = words viraraama = and stopped. Meaning: Sumitra the queen, skilled in her employment of words, who is faultless and charming, thus consoled Rama's mother with various words and finally stopped speaking. Points: 1. Yes - after talking so much - the truth- sathyam - about raama - how can sumithraa be a faulty person. 2. Also the skill of the person in suitably putting the message across of her realisation as well the consolation to her elder is brought out very nicely. Not only that, at the correct moment also. This sorrow of mother reminds me of the father also - raamaa's father - dhasarathan - on being separated from his son. That is very nicely brought out by that great raama bhaktha - kulasekara aazhvaar in his perumaaL thirumozhi in 10 paasurams - titled dayarathan pulambal - with starting paasuram van thaaLiNai - Here father - aazhvaar - enjoys the walking style of raamaa kaimmaavin nadai anna mennadaiyum kamalam pOl mugamum kaaNaadhu, pon peRRaar ezhil vEdhap pudhalvan - 9-8 I am unable to see my son, who is having the beauty of gold, he is also the son of all vEdhaas, he will walk like an elephant, but that walking at the same time has the softness of a swan, the face will be like the lotus fully blossomed, such a raama I miss now. king addresses his son as valvinaiyEn manumurukkum maganE - 9-3 valvinaiyEn manamurukkum vagaiyE kaRRaai - 9-4 I am a sinner and hard headed, but, oh my son, you know how to melt my heart, you learnt that art of melting my heart. manam urukkum maganE - the meaning of that very name raamaa is - one who can make the heart enjoy - manathai ramikka vaippadhanaal avan raaman - that is put in different words as urukkum- santhOshaththinaal - aanandhaththinaal - manam urugum. Such is my son, oh raamaa. Such is the king's reaction. As a lady mother will have more sorrow than the king will. So such kind of eloquent and high words - deserving and apt words are required to console kousalya. A pulambal - an azhugai - weeping- becoming a masterpiece of paasurams- two such are from great kulasekara only. That other pulambal - on krishNa - by mother dhEvaki - is a super class which we have seen with the topic thollai inbam in the other list.
