SrI:

Dear SrImathi Rangarajan:

This is a very meaningful question.

I can give one PramANam and have to

extend it from there thru yukthi Vaadham.

SrIman NaarAyaNa SabdhSArtham is all encompassing .

It is encyclopedaic in scope. One of The main aspects

is the Sesha-Seshithva sambhandham outlined by

the Sruthis.

KrishNA is indeed vibhava avathAram of SrIman NaarAyaNa.

The Soulabhyam , Souseelyam and all the other Vibhava avathAra

GuNams of KrishNa mkaes HIm " human" in relationship to

a wide variety of PandithALs and PaamarALs.

Sruthi (ChAndhOgyam)expressly points out to KrishNa

( just as NaarAyaNAnuvAkam and MahA NaarAyaNOpanishad

salute SrIman NaarAyaNa for His all-encompassing Tatthvams).

ChaAdOghyam salutes KrishNa this way: ( GhOrAngiras Vaakyam)

ChAndhOgyam : 3.17.6 (Dr.NSA Swamy's Translation and

Commentary of SrI Ranga RaamAnuja Muni's VisishtAdhvaithic

itrepretation)

" The Seer GhOrAngiras practised this Purusha YagnyA

with the dedication as "This is sub-servient to KrishNa ,

the son of Devaki ( KrishNAya Devaki PuthraYA). "

SrI RangarAmaanuja Muni explains that GhOrAngiras

practised this VidhyA with the reflection that

He (KrishNa < the son of Devaki ) is the Seshi /Swamyand

that he(GhOrAngiras) is the Seshan /Daasan of KrishNa

and made the Saattvika ThyAgam and ultimately

attained Mukthi (KrishNa sEshabhUtham Tath PreethyarTam

ukthvA).

This Purusha Yajnam is different from Sarvahutha

Yajnam celebrated thru Purushasooktham.

So, when we say KrishNaarpaNamasthu,

we are reminded of our dear KrishNa

and His relationship to us in a most graspable

manner thru His leelAs and chEshtithams .

We also say at the beginning of Sankalpam ,

" SrIman Naarayana PrethyarTam " and at

the end of the karmAs conclude with

" SrI krishNArpanam asthu:.

but i find it interesting to note that as part of

sAtvika tyaga, it is customary for bhagavathas to
