Earlier we saw sri kulasEkara AzhwAr's experience. Here let us go into

the experience of thirumazhisaip-pirAn.

 

Sri vElukkudi varadhAchAri swAmi often used to explain this duirng his discourses.

When two persons are very close and intimate they use to swap their

clothes. Likewise, thirumazhisai-AzhwAr and ArAvamudhap-pirAn

exchange their names and became thirumazhisaip pirAn and

ArAvamudha-AzhwAr.

 

Thirumazhisai AzhwAr had such an intimacy with thiruk kudandhai perumAL. Thiruch-chandha virutham 61

"nadandha kAlgaL nondhavO, nadungu gnAlam yEnamAi idandha mei kulungavO,

kadandha kAl parandha kAvirik karai kudandhai vuL , kidandhavARu ezhundhirundhu

pEsu, vAzhi kEsanE"

 

Oh! LOrd of thirukkudandhai ,You are resting after your measuring the World and rescuing the world.

The Lord initiated to get up and greet AzhwAr, but AzhwAr requested

the LOrd to speak to him on the reclining position and accordingly

the LOrd spoke to him on just lifting His head from a reclining

stance.-"kidandhavARu ezhundhirundhu pEsu vAzhi kEsanE"

 

Such was the experience of thirumazhisaip pirAn.
