Guest guest
Sri Parthasarathi thunai Srimathe ramanujaya Namaha Sri Vara Vara MunayE Namaha Sri Vanachala Maha munayE Namaha Dear Bhagavatas, Adiyen has been deeply blessed to have HH Sri Kaliyan Vanamamalai Jeeyer Swami as adiyen's acharya. Swamy has such great sowlabhyam that he is ever ready to clear even our silliest of silliest doubts regarding our sampradaya to remove our agnana and show us the right path. Here are few of the doubts adiyen raised and swamy’s answers to those. Adiyen just wanted to share them with you all so that many of you who also have the same doubts lingering in your minds can get clarified. 1. How is Navaratri significant to Srivaishnavas? Navaratri has been talked about in sastras and agamas. It has been our periavas practice. So Srivaishnavas can celebrate them as a pooja to Srimahalakshmi but the concept of durga pooja etc doesnt hold good for us. With respect to saraswathi pooja, it is not for Srivaishnavas instead our periavas do the same pooja to lakshmi hayagreeva moorthi who is personified as the incarnation of Sriman Narayana who blesses all of us with education. Moreover, not reading anything on saraswathi pooja etc is also not acceptable in the sense when we want to show our gratitude towards the deity then we should show abhivriththi that is we should read more rather than stop reading. 2. What is the feminine term parallel to dAsan for males? This is the confusion in the minds of many of the female bhagavatas in this group. Feminine term parallel to dAsan is only dAsee. The term 'dasyai' is incorrect. It refers to the fourth vibhakthi as per sanskrit grammer (like devyai namaha: etc). Again 'adiyen' is a common term common for all. Some say 'adiyal' for feminine. But adiyan or adiyal can be used only in third person and for first person that is referring to ourself it is only adiyen. For ladies, it should be 'adiyen rAmAnuja dAsee' only as parallel to 'adiyen rAmAnuja dAsan' for males. In this context, swamy rightly quoted Sri Alavandaar srisookthi, 'dvath dAsa dAsee ganaha:' (chatusloki). 3. Difference between DarshanapravartakAcharya and DarshanapravardhakAcharya Darshana pravartakam is taking care of the darshanam which has been so long be protected and handed over by our poorvacharyas. Darshana pravardhakam is abhivriththi (enhancement) of the sampradayam. One more general mistake that swamy pointed out is some using the term 'achcharya' for 'acharya' which is incorrect. As per Mamunikal's (again it is wrong to use Mamunigal) words "poorvAcharyargal pOdhamanuttAnangal" it is poorvAcharya and not poorvAchcharya. Again 'sadagopan' is wrong usage it should be 'saTakOpan'.
