Guest guest
Dear Bhagavatas: I am forwarding an appeal from “Seva Swamy Memorial Foundation” Sri Uppili Swami and Sri Gantamani Swami (Sons of Vaikuntavasi Seva SwamigaL) and Sri M.K.Srinivasan Swami of Sri Vedanta Desika Research Centre adorn the Board of Advisory Consultants of “Sri Ranga Sri”. As you know, I do not recommend any appeals for funds unless I am personally satisfied with the genuineness of the cause and the proper utilization of the funds collected for the purposes for which they are collected. I personally know that the selfless services of Vaikuntavasi Sri Seva Swamigal are being carried on by these devout Bhagavatas. I feel it is our duty to the great Swami to contribute generously for the noble cause. Please pitch in your mite as a dedication to the memory of Sri Seva SwamigaL. Dasoham Anbil Ramaswamy ============================================================= SEVA SWAMY MEMORIAL FOUNDATION No.10 (Old No.2), Lakshmipuram 2nd Street, Villivakkam, Chennai - 600 049. Phone : 2618 0481 Website : www.sevaonline.org Email : seva Oct 1, 2003 Sri Desika Seva Dear Sir(s) We the trustees of SEVA SWAMY MEMORIAL FOUNDATION, a newly formed registered trust take pride in re-launching “Sri Desika Seva”, a monthly journal in a new design and content on Vijayadasami Day (Oct 5, 2003). The day coincides with the thirunakshatram of Sri Vedanta Desika, the icon of Srivaishnavite sect. We are also launching our website www.sevaonline.org the same day. (We had a soft launch of the website last year through free site). The main objective of the trust is to propagate the ideals of Sri Seva Swamy to the various segments of society through the journal and website. “Sri Desika Seva” has been in forefront in spearheading the philosophy of Sri Vedanta Desika for decades. Sri Arasanipalai Nallur Srinivasa Raghavachariar, popularly known as “Seva Swamy” had single handedly pioneered the cause of taking the philosophy of Sri Desika through this journal and an almanac titled “Sri Desika Darsana Diary” to nook and corner of the country. He has written innumerous articles and had given series of lectures to achieve his mission of propagating Sri Vedanta Desika’s philosophy. He was reverentially called as “Seva Swamy” because of his immense effort in running the journal “Seva” (the title of the journal changed to “Sri Desika Seva” later). Sri Seva Swamy’s articles on various topics, question and answer columns, Contributions from various scholars are immensely popular with the readers. With passing away of Sri Seva Swamy in 2001, we lost a torch-bearer, who had done selfless service to the society. But he has shown a clear path that is an inspiration to all his admirers. “Sri Desika Seva” in its new form will have aesthetic look in design and content. We are planning to carry the gems of Sri Seva Swamy’s articles, contributions of various scholars, educational pieces for youngsters, sampradaya news across the country and lots of interesting and useful material. We require about Rs.15000/- for bringing out each issue (totally 12 issues in a year). Also, the cost of creating and maintaining website is around Rs.25000/- for the first year. We are planning to meet these expenditures through donations and annual subscriptions. We hereby request you to patronize us by contributing to the trust for bringing out the journal and running the website. IT exemptions under 80G for contributions to our trust is being processed. Payment can be made in favor of “SEVA SWAMY MEMORIAL FOUNDATION”, Chennai. Thanking you N.S. GANDAMANI Managing Trustee _______________ Frustrated with dial-up?
