Sri PBA Swami's Sarartha Deepikai: As Lord Krishna He stated that He is born to establish the dharmas ("dharma samsthApanArthAya sambhavAmi"). Now, He is stating here that for moksha that the dharmas which are the essence of the sastras should be given up and that the chetana should surrender to Him. This leads to a special meaning. That is, those are not truly the dharmas. He Himself is truly the dharma.
