Guest guest
Sri: Srimathe Ramanujaya Nama: Dear devotees, Sriman Sudarshan's note on Kabir triggers the next post in this series: Nanjeeyar asked Bhattar "A srivaishnava must recite the divine namas of the Lord and gain salvation. But is there no qualification required to say His names? Should one who is lowly in qualities be able to say His names?" Bhattar replied "One who is qualified can just recite the divine namas. However, it is not required that one is lowly in qualities has to gain qualification to do the same. For one who believes that saying the divine namas would create goodness, would not the namas themselves remove the sins that he had done before reciting them? If one wishes to take a bath in the Ganga river to get rid of their sins, is it required that they have to take a bath in another pond first? Therefore, it is not required that one has to get rid of the sins before saying His names. The divine names themselves will remove his sins and provide him with all the qualifications".
