Guest guest
ANDAL'S ENVY CONCH'S PRIDE It was seen in our earlier postings that AzhwAr's and AndAL are greatly enchanted by the conch. AndAL's fascination is greater. She asks the white conch, the experience with the Lord. She questions whether the experience should be exclusive or should be shared with the devotees? All these are in the 7th ten of nAchiAr thiru mozhi "karuppUram nARumO!? kamalap pU nARumO!?" Apart from the fascination what is the reason for such a trance? The conch is being asked this becuase he is very close to the Lord. he also enjoys from the Lord what AndAL desires; unlike AndAL he is always with the Lord; The chakaram has to leave the Lord in case of any emergency but the conch plays his role right from the divine mouth of the Lord When the Lord shows Himself unto the devotees He gives vision with the conch. Hence, AndAL asks the pAnchajanyam the experience with the Lord. She first requests him to explain the taste of the Lords mouth. Whether it is like karuppUram or is it like kamalp pU? Is it sweet? I desire to know this truth.Since, you have tasted His mouth during His daily routine why dont you tell me that? Oh !pAnchajanyam- your birth place is the demon panchajanan's stomach. However, you have landed up in the Lord's diving hand. Here, you are booming the opponents to terror. Where have you born? Where you are now? the Lord does acts as per the karmAs. Those who do kuRRam and guNam as per karmAs cannot be equal to you. oh!pAnchajanyAm; you are like a full moon placed atop the mountain, resting sweetly on the hands of vAsudEvan giving Him the added beauty of your presence. Indeed you are wealthy. How? Since you never go away from the Lord. (to be continued) vanamamalai padmanabhan
