Guest guest
ANDAL'S ENVY CONCH'S PRIDE It was seen in the preceding posting that contemporary entities in the world were not recognised but for pAnchajanyam. This set the conch a class apart from others.- innAr iNaiyAr enRu eNNuvAr illai kAN. Sleeping When? It is said that even for disciples the post-food tiredness sets in. Likewise, the conch takes food from the Lord's divine mouth and sleeps in His divine hand. What a bed? Oh! pAnchajanyamE!. You are indeed the king of conches -sanku+araiyA akin to puL araiyA. Indeed Your wealth is beautiful, extremely elegant. What is your food= The Lord's divine nectar from the mouth = vulagaLandhAn vAyamudham; What is your bed? the Lord's divine hand = kadal vaNNan kai thalathE. The women-folk are sour with you. Why? bhagwadh vishayam should be enjoyed and experiened together. AlAs! you are enjoying it alone. Is it not a cause for grievance? "peN padaiyAr vun mEal perum pUsal sARRuginRAr.." 7-8 The next pAsuram further highlights this point. "kUdiyirundhu kuLira vENum" is the basic postulate of srEvaishNavism. However, you are defying this principle, pAnchanyamE is the prime premise of this pAsuram "padhinAr Ayiram dhEvimAr pArthiruppa, madhu vAyil koNdAR pOle mAdhavan than vAyamudham, podhuvAga vuNbadhanai pukku nE vuNdakkAl, sedhaiyArO vunnOdu, selvapperunj changEa" 7-10 of nAchiyAr thiru mozhi All the krishNan's rightful womenfolk are looking for an opportunity to grab the Lord's divine amudham- mAdhavan than vAi amudham- You are a spoilsport. Is it fair for one person to snatch the food of all others? Can a common food to be shared by one and all be devoured by one and only one? But you have done this. What a wealth?-selvap perunjchangE; thus the elaborate discussio on the pAchajanyam is precisely desribed in this seventh padhigam of nAchiyAr thiru mzohi. is it not enough to say andAL's envy- conch's pride; AndAL's envy-AndAL's pride "yEindha perum pugazh" 7-10 is it not enough ? pallANdu pallANdu pallAyirathANdu, pala kOdi nURAyiram, mallANda thiN thOle maNivaNNA, nin sEvadi sevvi thiruk kAppu, adiyOmOdum, ninnOdum pirivinRi Ayiram pallANdu, vadivAi nin mArbinil vAzhginRa mangayum pallANdu, vadivAr chOdhi valathu vuRaiyum chudar Azhiyum pallANdu, padai pOr pukku muzhangu ap-pAnchajanyamum pallANdE" thirupallANdu 1 concluded vanamamalai padmanabhan
