In the earlier postings it was seen that swAmi nam-piLLai explains the

import of adjectives as meant by AzhwAr and conveys the meanings

through real life examples. swAmi nam-piLLai further elucidates the

meanings through real-life events which happened during the lifetime

of our AchAryAs. This is being explained by Sri TCA venkatesan in the

"A day iin the life our AChAryAs". This help us not only have a peep

into the past but also understand the real meaning of the pAsuram

through these illustration.

one pAsuram in fourth ten for instance.

" maNi mAmai kuRaivillA malar mAdhar vurai mARban,

aNi mANath thadavaraith thOL adal Azhith thadak kaiyan,

paNI mANanam pizhaiAmEa adiyEanai paNi koNda,

maNI mAyan kavarAdha mada nenjAl kuRaivilamE" 4-8-2

When explaining the the lines "paNi mAnam pizhaiAme pizhaiyAmE adiyEanai paNi koNda"

Edu : paNi-kainkaryam-service; mAnam-aLavu-measure; adhil OraLavum kuRaiyAme;

AzhwAr conveys to the Lord that the service to the LOrd was fulfilled without any shortage in size.

This is being explained with an event . Once when srEvaishNavites were

being served food, sri AchAn was providing water and while doing so he

was doing it slightly bending himself. On seeing this udaiyavar ran

towards him and straightened him and said " nErEa anRoAvudOa

parimARuvadhu" The serving should be done with an upright stance. For

this AchAn was very pleased as his service level became full from a

blemished one. Hence, he responded " paNi mAnam pizhaiyAmE adiyEanai

paNi koNda"

Even while doing service AzhwAr prescribes that the service should be

in full measure and our AchAryAs were meticulously following this.

This is being explained with an event. Edu is replete with such

narrations.
