Guest guest
AchArya Hrdhaym 203 contd. The previous message on this sUthram a question was asked why AzhwAr was preaching to even those who were interested in material life and had no devotion to the Lord? Continuing the discussion on this aspect, the following lines of the text is discussed: "Asthikya amAnithvAdhgaL vinjina" :- Those who follow meticulously the prescription laid down by shAshthrAs and those who are devotees of Lord vishnu and those who are in search of the nature of souls and those who are devoid of ego, are indeed true to listen to the teachings of AzhwAr. vammin pulavEr: As mentioned in thiru voi mozhi 3-9 "sonnAl virOdhamidhu", even those who do not strictly follow vishnu bhakthi are being sought out and addressed and given this great meanings by AzhwAr. Why is this so? The souls who have already attained salvation and now are in parama-padham and the souls which are still hovering in this world amidst sufferings basically do not differ insofar as the relationship with the LOrd is concerned. All the souls are subservient to the Lord. Some souls are still suffering .AzhwAr is not able to tolerate the suffereings. This is clear from the thiru voi mozhi 4-9 "nannAdhAr muRuvalippa" and the words "kaNdu ARREAn vulagiyaRkai" thiru voi mzohi 4-9-3, and hence AzhwAr out of his compassion looks for such soul and tries to correct their ways and bring into the path of welfare. Is this not amply spelt out by madhura kavi AzhwAr -the disciple of AzhwAr? Where? "aruL kaNdEr ivvulaginil mikkadhE" kaNNinuN siruthAmbu 8. Thus it is seen that AzhwAr presented his preachings even to those who do not deserve as the souls were suffereing and AzhwAr out of his sympathy and compassion wanted to release them from the sufferings. This is corroborated by sri madhura kavi AzhwAr's pAsuram also. vanamamalai padmanabhan
