Text: " thAikum, maganukkum, thambikkum, ivarkum, ivar adi

paNindhavarukkumEa ivai vuLLadhu"

 

Summary: It was seen in the previous sUthram that AzhwAr out of

compassion had preached to those who were interested in the

materialistic world only as AzhwAr saw that these souls also had

natural relationship with the LOrd.

 

In this sUthram, a list is made of those who had displayed such similar compassion.

 

thAikkum: In spite of the fact that rAvaNan had exhibited bad

intentions, sri sEthA showed undue mercy and preached to him the way

for his welfare. She advised him to befriend chakravarthith

thirumagan. She reiterated that sri rAma pirAn is not a person who

will ignore such offers as He is full of understanding, love,

affection and compassion. Hence, she prescribed this to rAvanan.

 

maganukkum: sri prahlAdhAzhwAn preached good lessons to his father.

Just by spelling out the name of the Lord, prahlAdhan attracted the

wrath of his father hiranyan who tried again and again tortured and

tormented prahlAdhan.Despite this, prahlAdhan advised his father to

attain salvatin by worshipping and approaching Lord sriman nArAyaNA.

 

thambikkum: sri vibhEshanAzhwAn preached welfare to rAvaNan. sri

vibhEshanAzhwAn strongly suggested that sri sEtha dhEvi should be

returned to sri rAma pirAn forthwith. For this he was branded enemy

of rAkshasAs. In spite of this he went on to preach welfare again and

again.
