to a size where I could make out the letters and words clearly. Can you

kindly educate me on this? Also, is there a search capability, to locate

the words that one is interested in?

On size:

It depends on the browser, nevertheless I have modified it so it should

show up in a full-size regardless.

On search:

Currently, you would need to thumb through it as a book i.e.

(I am providing a wordy and detailed example for the

sake of completness)

A sanskrit newbie/english speaker looking for the word ranga

would first look at the Dictionary order of nAgari letters in

http://www.ibiblio.org/sripedia/ebooks/mw/0000/mw__0033.html

than trying to find the section from the main index in

http://www.ibiblio.org/sripedia/ebooks/mw/index.html

would recognize that ranga is in section 0800 between

words bhaikshuka ~ randhragata i.e bh m y 'r' l and will click on

http://www.ibiblio.org/sripedia/ebooks/mw/0800/

than scroll down the word list and ascertain that ranga would

be between rakta-phala and raja i.e. k kh g gh 'n' c and click

on the url associated with rakta-phala i.e.

http://www.ibiblio.org/sripedia/ebooks/mw/0800/mw__0895.html

and look through the page to find ranga

However, there are two web services where you can search by

entering a word i.e.

http://acharya.iitm.ac.in/sanskrit/dictionary/

and by letter section

http://homepages.comnet.co.nz/~r-mahoney/mw_dict/mw_dict.html

Thanks

Srinivasan Sriram
