Bhattar was once talking about Azhvars pasurams that

describe the greatness of the Vamana avataram.

 

Nanjeeyar then asked Bhattar "Where did Lord Trivikrama

place his third step after measuring the two worlds with

the first two steps?"

 

Bhattar replied "Why do you ask me? Go ask the Vedas

for the answer. The Vedas, in which all answers can

be found, have themselves declared that they do not

know the answer to this question and that those who

wish to know the answer should ask Himself who took

the first two steps where he placed his third step".
