Guest guest
nam-piLLai Another greatness of nam-piLLai is his syle of avathArigai. When commencing commentary of anyten pAsuram-s the spirit or the essence or the nucleus of the ten pAsuram-s are given in the introduction. The meanings of the ten pAsuram-s are brought to the audience in a macro level with apt illustrations which enables us to have a full understanding and also gears up for the micro-meanings of the vyAkyAnam-s of each pAsuram to follow. For example, after AzhwAr preches what to be left and what to be followed in the second thiru voi mozhi, he appraises that The LOrd is easily accessible to those who desire Him. This is the crux of the ten pAsuram following "vEdumin muRRavum" The avathArigai for "pathudai adiyavarku eLiyavan" thiru voi mozhi 1-3. Edu: In the first thiru voi mozhi AzhwAr stressed that He is supreme. Hence, surrender unto His divine feet was the counselling given by AzhwAr. Is it possible for a person who does not have to hands to mount on an elephant? Likewise, will the souls who are submerged in this worldly materially inclined things be able to access Him? If the elephant comes down to the level of handless person to enable him to mount easily, is it not possible for it should not be impossible for him to mount? During incarnations, those who are not fortunate are distanced away from Him while those are indeed fortunate are able to access HIm very easily. If the Lord is difficult to access then those in this world will find it complicated to attain HIm. Hence, he came down to the level of simplicity. This simplicity itslef - Oh! is He so simple- was the opinion which destanced them. "The same simplicity made you enjoy Him" was udayavar's comment on seeing embAr. If some philonthrophists create lakes for drinking facilities. Some people fall in that while some quench their thirst in that. If a lamp is lit, some survive with that light while some fall in that get finished. He is the lamp of vEdhAs.
