"mArgazhi mahOtsavam"- Kuwait Tuesday 16 December'03

Dear friends in Kuwait,

 

In verse 35 of Chapter X in the Bhagavath Gita Krishna

said

 

"... mAsAnAm mArgasIrshO'aham...!"

 

i.e."Amongst the 12 months of the calendar, know Me to

be resident in the month of "mArgasIrsha:!"

 

The lunar month of Margasirsha or the Tamil "mArgazhi"

advents on Tuesday 16 December'03. It is a sacred

month to be set apart by us for religious/spiritual

pursuits. AndAl too enjoins us "...tee kuraLai

sennrOdhOm".

 

It is proposed to be celebrate the advent of

'mArgazhi' in a solemn manner here in Kuwait by the

T'venkatam Group at my residence on Tuesday 16 Dec at

7.30PM. The program is as follows:

 

7.30Pm Commencement with 'achArya tanians'

 

'Tirupalli-ezhuchi" of Tondaradipodi AzhwAr

 

'AndAl's' TiruppAvai

 

Desikan's "gOda-stuthi"

 

Gita shlOkA-s: 20 shlOkA-s beginning with

 

verse 19 upto verse 41 of Chapter X

 

Adi Sankara's "bhaja-gOvindam"

 

mangala shlOkA-s and "aarati".

All members together with family and friends are

requested to attend without fail and participate in

the "mArgazhi-utsavam" in the true spirit of

"koodi-irundhu-kULirndhu" as celebrated by our "andAl

nAcchiyAr".
