Guest guest
AchArya Hrdhayam 211 contd. The nature of the Lord - iRai nilai - and the soul- vuyir nilai - were discussed in the earlier postings. In this posting the four padhigam-s dealing with hassles or virOdhi swarupam/nature of the obstacles that may occur in the path of salvation is discussed. The four padhigam-s are a. vEdu b. sonnAl c. oru and d. koNda. a. vEdu: "vEdu min muRRavum" thiru voi mozhi 1-2 preaches that ego and the egotist feelings should be removed from oneself. b. sonnAl:" sonnAl virOdham idhu" thiru voi mozhi 3-8 teaches that subservience should be dedicated only to HIm and not to those who do not deserve. c. oru: " oru nAyakamAi' thiru voi mozhi 4-1 discusses the temporary nature of materialistic aspects and the Lord's divine feet is the permanent one is emphasised. d. koNda" koNda peNdir, makkaL, vuRRAR" thiru voi mozhi 9-1 highlights that relatives and friends are not to be desired and explains that with several instances. Only the Lord is the relative of all kind is underlined. Thus, egoism/egotism (in vEdumin muRRavum), subservience to others ( in sonnAl virOdham), temporary nature of material aspects ( in oru nAyakamAi) and relatives and friends are not actually to be considered so( in koNda peNdir) are categorically listed out as the obstacles and their nature - virOdhi swarUpam. vanamamalai padmanabhan
