The first five pAsuram-s of thiruppAvai talks about the way a devout srEvaishNavite should be. The first pAsuram consists: The spirit that the time and place are all as per His blessing. Those who are devotees in the bhagwadh vishayam should be given the prime place. He is both the means and the end.(nArAyaNaNE namakkE) The EkAram - in the term nArAyaNanE - refers to the following: 1. The complete removal of dhEvathAnthram from ones mind; 2. The complete removal of materialistic thoughts. 3. The Lord will do Himself our welfare. 4. Total welfare of the souls . Thus, the first pAsuram indicates the dos and dont of the souls and also the value of the thirunAmam- His divine name. Since, the term "nArAyaNanE" is mentioned this is alluding to parathvam. The second pAsuram : One thought is that those who indulge themselves in this nOnbu has to follow certain procedures wherein they out of their indifference towards the comorts- virakthi- the things that has to be followed and avoided is listed out. (nei vuNNoAm, pAl vuNNOam, seiAdhana seiiyOam, thEkuRalai senROdhOam etc. Those who are involved in dhvayAnusanthAnam do not find any taste in other aspects like ghee, milk etc. but are interested only in His divine feet. "pARkadalil paiath thuyinRa "words indicate "vyUham" in the second pAsuram. The third pAsuram The third pAsuram talks of welfare of the world , wealth and so on. The prime aim being service of the Lord, the other benefits also follow as a corollarly is the idea here. The fourth pAsuram The fourth pAsuram narrates the incident that the rain-deity is being directed for bringing forth rainfall. Hence, it is highlighted for srEvaishNavites who are these deities are subservient. The fifth pAsuram Do obstacles follow srEvaishNavites? is a question raised here. Those who think of Lord krishNA by their talks, thoughts and deeds, these obstacles wither off automatically is mentioned here. It is seen in the following ten pAsuram-s that those who intend to go into bhagwadh anubhavam seek the comany of like minded souls as a. This is not a matter to be cherished alone; b.
