Guest guest
nam-piLLai 9 -avathArigai Contd. nam-piLLai Continuing on nam-piLLai's avathArigai for "pathudai adiyavaRku ELiyavan' 1-3 of thiru voi mozhi: Edu: He is the person who beheaded vAnasura then. He incarnated here and became easily accessible to one and all. Those who opposed Him like sisupAlAdhigaL, bhUdhanai, sakatAsuran ,yamaLArjunargaL were vanquished by Him and those who desired Him thrived on HIm. Azhwar mentions several times " worship Him" . Unless, He is in one's vision one is unable to worship. Unless worshipped, He is not in the vision. Then how to surrender unto Him?............ The Lord being the supreme entity, is it possible for Him to come down to such a level? Being, omnipotent it is indeed possible. In fact, He Himself has mentioned this as : "My births are not due to kArmic effects but due to my volition. Even at that low level His supremacy is attained. ....Hence , in rAmakrishNAdhi avathArangaL He is sulabhan and Hence easily accessible, surrender unto Him, is AzhwAr's counsel. Among avathAram-s krishNAvathAram is the extreme end of this simplicity. Even, in that the episode of butter mouthed Lord makes AzhwAr faint for six months exclaiming "ethiRam" . First, AzhwAr submerged in Lord's supremacy. He adjusted himself and preached to the world in the next thiru voi mozhi. In this thiru voi mozhi, AzhwAr submerged in His simplicity and fainted. Thus swAmi nam-piLLai's introduction for this padhigam visualises and brings in front of us the Lord with butter in His hand, in His mouth in the simplest of the simplest state. That, this is the reflection of the supreme is explained. That, this simplicity cannot be taken for granted is also mentioned by those opposing being demolished. That many are enjoying this simplicity while some who oppose fall, is explained through illustration like water-pond, lamp. That, though a supreme entity cannot be reached by ordinary mortals like us being the question raised by one and all is answered by mentioning that it is possible to reach Him, if He lowers Himself to our reach. That, He cannot be worshipped as He is not in our vision is answered by the fact that He has indeed given vision in the incarnations and these are out of His volition are explained. Last but not the least, the fact that AzhwAr was able to retrieve himself from the impact of supremacy and preach but fainted on turning his thoughts on His extreme simplicity is emotionally spelt out. This grand introduction, will take anybody into levels of ecstasy and automatically push us into the spirit to dwell into the micro vyAkyAnam-s of each pAsuram-s to follow. Is that not the greatness of swAmi nam-piLLai?
