THIRUPPAVAI SWAPADHESAMSREMATH PARAMAHAMSA VANAMAMALAI JEEYAR

The twenty-sixth pAsuram: Lord krishNa then asks them what else they

want? They request for equipments for performing the nONbu. It is

stated that like removal of obstacles, even this is also granted by

Him.-mAlE maNivaNNA.

The twenty-seventh pAsuram: The things to be achieved at the end of

nONbu is mentioned in this pAsuram.

The twenty-Eighth pAsuram: The nONbu as mentioned herein earlier is

only an excuse. What actually desired is service unto Him-kainkaryam.

The means to get this is Him. There is nothing in exchange to get

that. Hence, it is His blessing that yields this kainkaryam. Till

this pAsuram the characteristic of a srEvaishNavite is explained. In

this pAsuram, the adoption of Him as means is categorically spelt

out. ---->puNNiayam yAmudaiyOm-nE thARAi paRai.

--kaRavaigaL .

The twenty-ninth pAsuram: The means is higlighted in the preceding

pAsuram. The end is underlined in this pAsuram. The goal is

kainkaryam -purushArtham. The end corresponding to the means

mentioned above is mentioned in this pAsuram-unakkE nAm At

cheivOm-maRRai nam kAmangaL mARRu.-chitranj siru kAlE.

The thirtieth pAsuram: Those who study this prabhandham get the divine

blessings of the Lord and His nAichiAr. Even those who do not follow

meticulously he prescriptions , the pAsuram is capable of getting

this benefit.

This highlights the greatness of the pAsuram-s.

Summary: The ThiruppAvai limelights the essence of vEdham. That is,

The Lord's beauty is the creation of interest in Him, Those who have

tasted His beatuty, have endless zest in Him, and out of such desire

throng Him, Such type of fellow devotees are also to be desired is

enunciated. The final experience sought is kainkaryam-service and

this is obtained by His divine blessings.

Thus thiruppAvai is -vEdhArtham:

1. The Lord creates interest for the souls which are all along turning

thoughts towards mundane and materialsitic things.

2.The interest turns into craze on seeing His beauty.

3. This overwhelming thirst for Him make them throng towards Him and yearn for Him.

4. The fellow devotees who are also caught in such deep craving for

Him are our fellow soulmates who are to be desired as friends,

philosophers and guides.pAsuram 6-15

5. The final aim is to attain kainkaryam to Him.pAsuram-29

6. The means to attain this is through His blessings.---pAsuram 28.

This is thiruppAvai.
