Guest guest
THIRUPPAVAI SWAPADHESAMSREMATH PARAMAHAMSA VANAMAMALAI JEEYAR It was noted in the preceding posting that the sixth to fifteenth pAsuram of thiruppAvai is viewed from the angle of AzhwArs. Accordinly, it was seen that the sixth pAsuram indicates poizhgai-AzhwAr and the seventh pEi AzhwAr. The Eighth pAsuram: The eighth pAsuram refers bhUdhath-AzhwAr. How? "kOdhu kalamudaiya pAvai enRadhu bhUdathu AzhwArai" "anbhE thagaLi" is the commencement of iraNdAm thiruvandhAdhi which speaks a lot about bhakthi. "perugu madha vEzham" 75 talking on Lord krshNA's great deeds and "yEarin perutheruthu angOd osiya peNnasaiyin piN pOi eruthirutha nal Ayar ERu" 62 indicating the conqur of the seven bulls for the sake of nappinnai pirAtti. "dhEvAdhi dhEvan enap paduvan munnoru nAL mA vAip piLandhAn magan' 28 and "malE nediyOnE kaNNanE viNNavarkku mElA viyanthuzhAik kaNNiyanE" in the final pAsuram culminating in the ecstasy for the AzhwAr may not be a mere coincidence with the term 'kOdhu kalamudai" but in fact reference to bhUdhathu AzhwAr. The Ninth pAsuram: After having seen the mudhal-AzhwArgaL now it is mentioned that this pAsuram is indicative of thirumazhisai-AzhwAr. "mAmAn magaL" is the key term referring to this AzhwAr. The reasons given are: ----> "azhaippan thiruvEnkatathAnaik kANa, izhaippan thiruk-kUdal kUda" speaks in feminism -nAnmugan thiruvandhAdhi 39 which is similar to sri AndAL's nAchiyAr thirumozhi's "kAttil vEnkatam---kUdidu kUdalE" 4-2; ------> thUmaNI mAdathu refers to the highlight of great knowledge ---gnAnam which is inferred from 'en mathikku viNNellAm vuNdO vilai" nAn mugan thiruvandhAdhi 51; 'gnAnam Agi gnAyiRAgi' thiruchchandha virutham 114; mAmAyan-mAdhavan from thiruppAvai is represented by: -----> 'Ayan thuvaraik kONAi ninRa mAyan' nAnmugan thiruvandhAdhi 71; ------> 'adich sakatam chAdi ...vadip pavaLa vAi pinnaikkA valEtheruthiruthu'nAnmugan thiruvandhAdhi 33; ------> 'AyanAgi Ayar mangai vEya thOL virumbinAi' thiruch chandha virutham 41 mAmAyan-mAdhavan-vaikunthan: is correlated by: -----------> 'mAdhavan' nAnmugan thiruvandhAdhi 65 ----------> 'vaikunthach selvanAr' 75; Thus, purushakAr vaibhavam is covered in the above references. Thus, it is concluded 'that mAmAn-magaL' indicates thirumazhisai AzhwAr. (to be continued) vanamamalai padmanabhan
