Guest guest
AchArya Hrdhayam sUthram 219 contd. avan vuraitha mArgathE ninRu: To follow the means as spelt out by Him in the srEamdh bhagwadh gEthA. The Lord categorically spells out what to follow , whom to approach and what to aim for? Follow the bhakthi mArgam. Acknowledge His supremacy. Have no qualms about other deities. Worship Him without expecting anything in return. Where are these points expressed in the first pathu? i. "pinakkaRa.....ambhagavan vaNakkudaith thava neRi" 1-3-5=>indicating that of the several perceived means of attaining means the devotion is the ideal one which takes us to the altar of being with Him eternally====>Right Means ii. "num irupasai aRuthu"1-3-7; "manan aga malam aRak kazhuvi" 1-3-8.====> Right Person. Remove completely your doubts regarding other deities. He is the supreme Lord. iii." avanudai vuNarvu koNdu vuNarndhu" 1-3-5;'nanRu ena nalanj cheivadhu, avan idai" 1-3-7====> Aim for Him. as spelt out in thiruppAvai 25 "vunnai aruthithu vandhOam" and have no other goal in mind===> Right End. Conclusion: The Lord out of His voluntary Blessing granted Azhwar the requisite knowledge. The kArmic effects of AzhwAr were completely eradicated. Ignorance/lack of knowledge etc. were totally removed. This was done by the Supreme Lord. This was seen in the first padhigam; AzhwAr preached these to the fellow souls -the do's and don'ts-second padhigam; He is easily accessible----third padhigam; He condones our mistakes--- fourth padhigam; He mixes with us freely-----fifth padhigam; He is satisfied with even small things offered---sixth padhgiam; He Himself is the remedy for the cycle of births-seventh padhigam; He mixes with them flexibly -eighth padhigam; He Graces them gradually lest they are awed by His sudden wholesome feel-ninth padhigam. He grants Himself to us at the smallest excuse-=tenth padhigam. AzhwAr thus expresses all these qualities of the Lord and tells the fellow souls to fall at His feet and approach Him through devotion. He imparts them this knowledge that He is the means and expect nothing else but Him in return. There is no other deity. All these are bequeathed by AzhwAr by AzhwAr mercy towards the souls which is akin to the Lord's mercy to AzhwAr.
