The Vedic Yanja Prathishtan, Mulamgunnathukavu, Thrissur, Kerala,

India and Om Santhidham, Bangalore, with the support of Sroutha

Sasthra Parishad are organizing a great Vedic Yajna, Apthoar Yama

Yagam, the greatest of all Somayagas from 10th to 20th April 2004, at

Mulagunnathukavu, Thrissur.

Apthoaryama is a gigantic Vedic ritual encompassing hundreds of ritual

activities and utilization of thousands of Veda mantras from Rig Veda,

Yajur Veda, Sama Veda and few sookthas from Atharva Veda. It is stated

by experts that all the features - profundity and complexity of Vedic

ritualism are enshrined in this Yajna. As a part of this Yajna, it is

intended to make a full scientific evaluation without any preconceived

notions, prejudices or bias. The central government has agreed to

issue No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the scientific institutions

concerned. We are also organizing other programmes like an elaborate

Vedic exhibition, assembly of scholars and experts, seminars etc. For

this purpose, we are having a local committee headed Dr. K.V. Peter,

Vice Chancellor, Agricultural University, Mannuthy and State

committee, guided by Dr. Unnikrishnan Nair, Vice Chancellor, Cochin

University of Science and Technology, Cochin and a National

committee. Since the scientific evaluation is one of the main aims of

this Yajna and also a need of the hour, the scientific patronage,

advice, necessary help and co-operation of different organisations,

universities etc are earnestly solicited. >The Indian Institute of
