Guest guest
Dear bhaktas: Thanks in advance for your attention. Although asmad acharyan needs no introduction among todays vedantins, samskrit scholars and especially in ramanuja sampradAyam - yet adiyEn has attempted to write about SriRangapriya swAmi in the light of his upcoming thirunakshatram. This message was originally sent to the rangapriya discussion list. Because very few days remain between now and the actual thirunakshatram [to be held Feb 07 in Jayanagar Srimad Andavan Asramam in Bangalore], those who would like to offer any contributions towards the thirunakshatram may kindly EMAIL their pledges to Smt Nagu Satyan at the address given below, and send your cheque by US Mail at the earliest convenience. As we all may be aware, SriRangapriya swAmi is closely linked with most of the AchArya paramparais in SrI sampradAyam today, and his great tolerance endears him to sishyas of all denominations, even outside of SrIvaishNavam. It will be our parama bhAgyam to try and help (yathA SakteH) with this kainkaryam towards a great yathISwara of ramanuja siddhAntam. This mahAcharyar, having the anugraham of 5 different preceptors from his poorvaSrama - poundareekapuram SrI SrInivasa mahAdeSikan, SrInivAsa varadaguru, SrImad abhinava ranganAtha parakAlaswAmi, SrIranga mahAguru, and SrImad abhinava rAmAnuja parakAlaswAmi.... also shares his janma nakshatram with thirumazhisai pirAn - who was the amSam of SrIsudarSaNa and progeny of bhArgava rishi himself. makhAyAm makare mAse chakrAmSam bhArgavodbhavam mahisAra purAdhInAm bhaktisAram aham bhaje || Little wonder then, that our SrIrangapriya swami has such great vidwat, pravachana shakti, kAruNyam and even immense soulabhyam. Today, asmadAcharyan is involved in many noble kainkaryams to SrIvaishnava kovils (particularly the one in satyakalam), to poor students and underprivileged people, to the cause of vedic studies, and towards the support of the ancient SrI parakAlamaTham. adiyEn had the opportunity to pay obeisance to Sri Rangapriya swAmi on 3 occasions during dhanur mAsam recently while I was in Bangalore; each time we were blessed with enlightening upanyAsams that resulted from swAmi's meditation, and his great concern for the well being of devotees. In particular I was amazed how rangapriya swAmi read into my state of mind, and advised me to return to my country soon. Sri rangapriya swAmi's thiruvuLLam is that his shishyas wherever they might be, practice the agnyA kainkaryams ordained in our SrI sampradAyam regularly and to the best of their ability. By this alone, rangapriya swAmi states - sampradAyam can flourish, our mind will focus on bhagavAn and our soul will experience Anandamaya. Although there are no grand celebrations or festivities that occur at AStangayoga vignyana mandira on the day of swAmi's thirunakshatram, it will behoove us all shishyas and abhimanis alike - to send a modest contribution marking that occasion, something that will at least support the minimal costs of thadiyAradhanai etc. and from which any excess amounts are directed by SrI rangapriya swAmi towards his many kainkaryams. Rangapriya swAmi has always stated, that one-tenth of one's earnings must go towards the support of SrIvaishnavam. Let us take this AchArya thiruvuLLam to heart at least on this occasion, and enact the same to whatever extent possible... Because only few days remain between now and the thirunakshatram, kindly mail your cheques at the very earliest (i.e. during the next one week) to smt Nagu Satyan at the following address: NAMA Inc. 7821 West Alder Drive Littleton CO 80128-5522 [Make cheque out to: "NAMA Inc."
